Becker’s Hospital Review honors four hospitals in Georgia

Morgan Medical Center — Morgan County’s acclaimed state-of-the-art community hospital — is recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the best hospitals for nurse communication in the country. Among the 350 hospitals honored in Becker’s Top Hospitals for Nurse Communication, Morgan Medical Center is one of only four in Georgia.

“This award is a testament to the admirable efforts of our nursing staff to maintain high standards of care,” says Ralph Castillo, CEO of Morgan Medical Center. “It also reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare that caters to the health needs of Morgan County. We are honored to receive this recognition and will remain dedicated to providing top-tier care.”

Utilizing the 10 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) star rating, obtained from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), Becker’s Hospital Review compiled a list of top hospitals for nurse communication in each state. The nurse communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions that summarize how well patients feel their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully to the patient, and treated the patient with courtesy and respect. Hospitals that received five stars for nurse communication are featured on the list, which was released on November 8.

“Our nursing staff at Morgan Medical Center understand the importance of patient-centered care,” says Adam Bedgood, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer of Morgan Medical Center. “We believe that practicing clear communication of procedures and providing personalized care plans fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment.”

The Becker’s Top Hospitals for Nurse Communication recognition is further proof patients can choose Morgan Medical Center with confidence.
