Volunteer

Auxiliary

For more than 20 years, the Morgan Medical Center auxiliary has been an important arm of the hospital, dedicated to supporting its missions and contributing funds to help purchase necessary equipment. What started as a group of six women in 1991 has now grown to over 75 who share a common goal.

Auxiliary members come from the various communities served by the hospital. Members work together to organize two primary fundraisers each year, the Festival of Friends in August and the Love Light Tree in December. They are proud to continue the tradition of serving as ambassadors and promoting Morgan Medical Center to local citizens.

The auxiliary’s fundraising efforts have helped raise over $500,000 for hospital equipment, facilities and services. Recent contributions have included rehabilitation equipment for the new inpatient therapy gym, an arthroscopy package for the surgical tower in the operating room and a telemetry central station.

Auxiliary membership is open to anyone who has an interest in helping our local hospital continue to expand and provide high quality healthcare services to our growing community.

Volunteer Opportunities

Through the years, volunteers have been an integral part of the success of Morgan Medical Center. Volunteers assist and support the mission and efforts of the hospital by helping staff members, patients, residents and visitors during their time in the hospital. Our volunteers are generous and caring individuals with a multitude of talents providing services in both patient and non-patient care areas.

We welcome individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteer opportunities include filing, courier services, escorting patients, assisting with recreational activities, leading Sunday worship services, data entry, fundraising and event assistance – just to name a few! If you have a particular talent or area in which you would like to volunteer, please share your ideas with our staff.

To protect the safety and privacy of our employees, patients and visitors, volunteers are screened as rigorously as our employees. Individuals must complete volunteer orientation as well as pass a drug screen and background check.

Fundraising Volunteers through Auxiliary membership should contact Megan Morris, Executive Director of The Morgan Medical Center Foundation, at [email protected] or (706) 752-2237.
