Morgan Medical Center recently announced the appointment of Mitchell Copelan to the Morgan County GA Hospital Authority, where he will help govern the hospital and support its mission of providing high-quality healthcare to the community.

Copelan, who is filling a vacant position on the board, was officially sworn in on September 24 by Andrea Grey, legal representative for the Morgan County Hospital Authority.

“We are pleased to welcome Mitchell to the Hospital Authority,” said Morgan County Hospital Authority Chair John Moore. “His financial expertise, leadership experience, and deep commitment to Morgan County will be valuable as we continue to support Morgan Medical Center and the healthcare needs of our community.”

A lifelong Morgan County resident, Copelan brings extensive experience in banking, finance, risk management, and community leadership. He currently serves as senior vice president and senior lender at Bank of Madison, where he oversees the bank’s lending function. He earned a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness from the University of Georgia before returning home to build his career and invest in the community. His community involvement includes leadership and service with local educational and civic organizations. He and his wife, Daniela, are raising their three daughters in Morgan County.

The Morgan County Hospital Authority provides governance and oversight of Morgan Medical Center, supporting its mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to Morgan County and the surrounding communities.
