Our surgical services department houses state-of-the-art equipment and a highly trained staff of healthcare professionals ready to attend to patient needs with the utmost care and concern. We are equipped to handle a variety of general surgical procedures, diagnostic services and outpatient treatments. Among these are colonoscopies, EGDs, breast biopsies, hernia repairs and the removal of cysts and skin lesions, as well as blood transfusions and IV antibiotic infusions. We also perform knee arthroscopies and a variety of other orthopedic and podiatric procedures.
Once a procedure is scheduled, the patient will be contacted by our surgical services staff. This allows us an opportunity to go over instructions and answer any questions the patient may have about what to expect the day of a procedure. Any other tests a physician may have ordered, such as blood work, X-rays or an EKG, will be arranged at this time.
The operating room nurses, along with the anesthesiologist and the doctor or surgeon performing the procedure, will oversee a patient’s care during surgery. Following the procedure, patients are cared for by specially trained professional nurses in phase I and II recovery rooms. After discharge, patients will be contacted at home by our surgical services staff to ensure that any questions have been answered and post-op instructions are understood.
