What Should I Expect During Surgery?
Our surgery patients receive an unmatched level of personal attention from the time surgery is scheduled to the day of the procedure and through any post-op follow up. Once a procedure is scheduled, our surgical services staff works with the patient to review instructions and answer questions about what to expect on procedure day. Any other tests a physician may have ordered, such as blood work, X-rays or an EKG, will be arranged at this time.
The operating room nurses, along with the anesthesiologist and the doctor or surgeon performing the procedure, will oversee a patient’s care during surgery. Following the procedure, patients are cared for by specially trained professional nurses in our comfortable recovery areas. After discharge, our surgical services staff follows up with patients to answer any remaining questions and clarify post-op instructions.
