Morgan Medical Center — Morgan County’s acclaimed state-of-the-art community hospital and Level IV Trauma Center — will celebrate the end of National Hospital Week with its Community Health Fair, taking place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 17.

The event, featuring health screenings, educational resources, and wellness resources, will happen outdoors in front of the hospital allowing guests the opportunity to learn more about Morgan Medical Center and its array of services.

“This event holds special significance as it coincides with the conclusion of Hospital Week, officially recognized by the Morgan County Board of Commissioners to honor the outstanding work being done to bring quality health care to our community,” says Ralph A. Castillo, CPA, CEO of Morgan Medical Center. “Our Community Health Fair helps embody that spirit by sharing what we do with our neighbors and offering essential screenings and other medical-related services for visitors.”

Morgan Medical Center providers will be on hand to meet with guests, who can learn more about the hospital’s offerings, including outpatient services and screenings, stroke education, diabetes awareness, and much more.

Admission is free, and on-site screenings for hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, and heart disease will be offered at no cost. Complimentary blood tests, including lipid panel, hemoglobin A1C, lipoprotein a, and cardiovascular risk assessments for select patients, will also be available.

A variety of health care vendors will be part of the festivities, some offering giveaways. Attendees will also have the chance to connect and learn about local health care providers and services. Featured participants include Atlanta Cancer Care of Northside (Dr. Richard Carter), Lake Oconee Orthopedics (Dr. Thomas Parent), GastroCare Physicians of Georgia (Dr. David Socoloff), Shepeard Community Blood Center, Morgan Cares Center, Air Evac Lifeteam, National EMS, University Cancer & Blood Center, ACC-SANE, Inc., An Angel’s Hand LLC., and more.
