Morgan Medical Center Receives the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® Awards for Coronary Artery Disease, Stroke, and Pediatric Resuscitation
Morgan County’s acclaimed state-of-the-art community hospital and Level IV Trauma Center — has received three American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® awards. They are the Coronary Artery Disease NSTE-ACS Silver Award, the Rural Stroke Silver Award, and the Resuscitation Bronze Award (Pediatrics).
The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, recognizes the importance of rural hospitals in providing timely, evidence-based care to people in rural areas.
People living in these communities live an average of three years fewer than their urban counterparts. They also have a 40% higher likelihood of developing heart disease and face a 30% increased risk of stroke mortality — a gap that has grown over the past two decades. Morgan Medical Center is committed to changing that.
