Natalie Stinnett, RN, Receives the DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses
November 28, 2023
Natalie Stinnett, a registered nurse at Morgan Medical Center’s medical-surgical unit, has been honored with the prestigious DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses, making her the first nurse at Morgan Medical Center to receive this distinction. The DAISY Award®, administered by the DAISY Foundation, recognizes nurses who demonstrate unwavering commitment and compassion in their daily patient care.
Stinnett’s nomination came from Verba Brown, a patient whose life she impacted by providing high-quality care with understanding, compassion, and empathy.
“After having surgery, Natalie provided the most compassionate care,” Verba Brown explained. “Her communication was top-notch. She fulfilled every commitment and provided exceptional care. She exhibited empathy and was never too busy to assist me. She made sure I understood everything that was happening and what our next steps were to help relieve the pain and pressure. On top of that, a fresh cup of coffee made at the nurses’ station was the best. Natalie deserves this fantastic award.”
The DAISY Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Barnes died in late 1999 at the age of 33 from complications of an autoimmune disease. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. Inspired by the care received from nurses during Barnes’ illness, the foundation seeks to express gratitude to nurses who profoundly impact the lives of their patients and their families.
Join us in congratulating Natalie Stinnett for her well-deserved recognition and the remarkable care she provides at Morgan Medical Center.
