On Sunday, October 23, 2022, Ralph A. Castillo, CPA, Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Medical Center, and Dr. Rick Brewer, Chief Medical Officer of Morgan Medical Center, appeared as guests on “The Weekly Check-Up” on News/Talk WSB.
During the show, Castillo and Dr. Brewer shared their passion for rural healthcare and the importance of independent hospitals with host Dr. Bruce Feinberg. They also detailed Morgan Medical Center’s regionally renowned inpatient rehabilitation (swing bed) program which allows patients post-orthopedic surgery, post-heart attack, post-stroke, or post-ICU to recover in the new, state-of-the-art facility.
Castillo and Dr. Brewer also gave insight into the importance of the hospital’s diagnostic and treatment programs in the community it serves. This access to local healthcare, as opposed to a far-away treatment center is “critical and a huge value in the community,” said Feinberg.
In the final segment, Castillo spoke about Morgan Medical Center’s vision statement: to be a patient-focused center of excellence. He asserted that this statement requires every employee to be responsible for the patient, no matter their role. Castillo explained, “at Morgan Medical Center, we are making a difference. We prioritize quality, safety and taking care of each other.”
