Wound Care

Morgan Medical Center’s Wound Care Program provides outpatient wound care services for patients with acute, chronic, and non-healing wounds. Conveniently located within our Outpatient Clinic, the program offers specialized wound treatment in a comfortable, calming outpatient environment.

Care is provided by board-certified General Surgeons and certified nurses who work together to develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation and best practices.

Jacob Werkin, M.D.

Dr. Jacob Werkin is a board-certified general surgeon with a passion for connecting with patients and supporting their health and wellness. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health in Columbus, Ohio.

Leah Long, LPN, has been a member of the Morgan Medical Center care team for seven years, providing patients with compassionate, quality care.
She currently practices with the Wound Care and Outpatient Infusion teams in the Outpatient Clinics, where she supports patients through ongoing treatment and coordinated care services.
